Members of the platform have expressed outrage following a change that caused listings displaying inaccurate size information.

The popular resale platform has updated its measurement guidelines for female and kids' apparel without notifying all shoppers about the modification.

Countless users and merchants have taken to social media claiming that product pages now present a modified sizing category versus the original listing because of the remapping.

The platform stated the new system was more in line with similar services.

The platform has recommended to review their products and update the measurements by hand if necessary, resulting in member annoyance.

Measurement Approach Modifications

Before the change, the sizing featured a single numeric size and a letter, like S/8 or M/10.

The new system has an alphabetical indicator and numerical range for example S/UK 8-10.

In some cases, the measurements have been reclassified - like an L measurement used to be a 12 but now shows as UK 16-18.

Member Experiences

One content creator, who makes TikTok content about plus-size fashion, explained the modification "makes transactions more difficult".

"Few clothing companies classify XL as 20-22," which is what Vinted now does.

Another user, located in Scotland, stated items she posted featuring size 14 markings were showing in the marketplace as larger sizing 20-22.

"If anyone [who is] size 20-22 buys them they will likely be quite upset," she explained.

Necessary Adjustments

Charlotte Lunn, from Derby, stated she felt frustrated because the modification necessitated personal updates the sizes on "every single listing".

"This situation is especially annoying, since I have chronic health issues and Vinted sales have been crucial after experiencing income reduction," she said.

Marketplace Information

The platform boasts over 100 million users, with 18 million British users.

It has become a favored option compared to resale services such as eBay and Depop.

This is not the initial instance where an unanticipated change on the platform has faced criticism: previously, the platform withdrew an update to its shipping options due to shopper criticism.
