Skydance Paramount Will Eliminate Nearly 2,000 US Jobs – Report

Skydance Paramount plans to begin significant workforce reductions during the week starting 27 October, eliminating approximately 2,000 US jobs within a cost-cutting plan totaling $2bn led by CEO David Ellison.

These job cuts come after the merger between Skydance Media and Paramount Global, completed this past August worth $8.4bn.

More global layoffs are likely, as the firm intending to reveal all specifics via its Q3 financial results on 10 November.

Prior news had indicated that Paramount was looking to eliminate between 2,000 to 3,000 positions by the beginning of next month.

By December 2024, Paramount retained almost 18,600 full- and part-time employees and 3,500 temporary project employees.

Paramount Skydance has not provided a response to a request for comment.
