The president-elect of the Oxford Union has been ousted from office after failing a vote of confidence that followed his disputed online comments about the conservative activist.
The vote against the student leader achieved the necessary two-thirds threshold to remove him from office, according to an announcement from the organization.
The controversy erupted after Mr Abaraonye reportedly posted messages on online platforms that appeared to celebrate the death of the American conservative figure, who was shot dead while speaking at a university in Utah.
According to reports, one social media message reportedly read "Charlie Kirk got shot loool" - using an extended form of the acronym for 'laughing out loud'.
The student leader is also said to have written in a WhatsApp chat with other members seeming to express approval of the event.
The no-confidence motion was conducted over the recent days, with outcomes revealed on Tuesday.
Official notices indicated that over twelve hundred votes were cast supporting no confidence, while 501 were against the motion.
The announcement confirmed that the future president was deemed to have stepped down in accordance with the society's regulations.
Proceedings were informally suspended early on Monday after the returning officer was reportedly subjected to "interference, threats, and inappropriate behavior" from multiple individuals.
In a response, Mr Abaraonye asserted that the count had been stopped because electoral officials believed "no legitimate and true result could be reached as a result of procedural failures".
His statement categorically refuted that any representative acting for the student had participated in intimidating or disruptive behavior.
The student stated that significant concerns had been submitted to the governing body and that he remained president-elect.
His statement added that George was "grateful and honored to have the support of well in excess of a majority of university members" who supported a "safe election and oppose efforts to undermine the electoral process".
Critics have argued that any failure to remove him would "signal to the world that the Oxford Union has chosen ideology over integrity".
On Friday, Mikey McCoy presented an public message to the Oxford Union on The Charlie Kirk Show podcast.
The message criticized the union of becoming a place where "student leaders publicly celebrate the killing of a ideological rival".
The statement indicated that if the student were to remain in post, Kirk's allies would "directly reach out to every American political speaker who has ever graced the union's chamber and advise them against future participation".
The Oxford Union had earlier condemned Mr Abaraonye's comments after Kirk's death and confirmed that concerns filed against him had been referred for official review.
The student leader had been one of multiple members to discuss with the activist at the union in spring.
